How it scores for you10 scores
Supercharged smoothness, a perfect five-star safety card, and one of the more trouble-free German luxury records of its era.
Recalled somewhat less often than cars of the same model years; 4 of its 6 recalls were serious. About 5% of its owner complaints describe a crash, fire or injury. Based on recalls and serious defect reports — it doesn't capture everyday repairs or problems fixed by warranty extensions. Adjusted +3 points for its wider reputation.
5-star overall NHTSA crash rating (frontal 5, side 5, rollover 5).
About $2,900 a year in fuel (EPA estimate) — cheaper to run than about 39% of cars we track.
14.1 cu ft of cargo space — more than about 12% of other sedans we track.
Spacious midsize cabin and a 14.1 cu ft trunk.
The supercharged 3.0T is a gem - swift and smooth - in a chassis tuned more for composure than play.
Google Earth nav and rich options were era-leading; obviously dated now.
Hushed, beautifully finished, and long-legged - a superb cruiser.
Luxury brands like Audi tend to lose value faster than average.
No published tow rating; all- or four-wheel drive available.
